Metal Gear Solid is a stealth game released for the Sony PlayStation in 1998. A remake was released for the Nintendo GameCube in 2004 titled Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.

Snake, the main character of the game, and the Shadow Moses Island area from the game, both appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The support team, Roy Campbell, Otacon, and Mei Ling as background characters. Gray Fox, a major character from the game, appears as an Assist Trophy. Metal Gear REX and the GEKKO, which also appears in this game, appears as a part of the background in the Shadow Moses Island stage.
