Donkey Kong Country (Super Donkey Kong in Japan) is a video game developed by Rare and Nintendo, featuring the popular arcade character, Donkey Kong. It was released for the SNES and Super Famicom in 1994. It was ported to the Virtual Console on the Nintendo Wii in February 19, 2007.

It was produced by Tim Stamper. This was the first Donkey Kong game that was not produced or directed by Shigeru Miyamoto.

The first area in the game, the Kongo Jungle is a stage in both Super Smash Bros. and Super Smash Bros. Melee. The music for the first level of the area was also used and remixed for both games.

Diddy Kong, who made his first appearence in this game, is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
