BPro, Bobby Prochnow, is a Marth player representing Houston, TX and Pittsburgh, PA, where he attends college at Carnegie-Mellon University.

[edit] Background

Bobby first started playing Smash over the summer of 2007 with friend Tobias Xel'Kythe. His origins in competitive gaming fall back to his glory days as a Counter Strike player under the handle "Excal". Bobby was very well-known and well-respected for his extremely tight intelligent play and overall amazing performances, rolling world-famous compLexity and earning FPR ratios as high as 1.500 in certain matches.

Though the transition from CS to SSBM had to have been strange and very different, Bobby made the adjustment exceedingly quickly. He picked up advanced techniques in a matter of days, and had a natural talent for spacing, especially with grabs, though he had to slow himself down from his accustom to the frame-instant reaction times of CS 1.6. His Marth seems to pull tippers out of nowhere, sometimes taking a stock in seconds with well-placed tips, and at times it seems to blatantly refuse to die, even when confronted with a Mew2King Combo followed by the Ken Combo. He also has a good eye for opportunities for gimp kills.

Over the summer, Bobby attended one of SideEffect's Houston tournaments, and since going back to Pittsburgh to resume college at CMU, he has involved himself in the Smash scene there as well. Expect healthy activity when Brawl comes out, too, because Bobby's quick learning curve and natural intelligence and talent could prove to take him quite far when he's playing a game that he didn't start during the last six months of its life.
