Alaska is the main setting for the Super Smash Bros. Brawl stage Shadow Moses Island. In the Metal Gear Solid series, the Nuclear Warhead Dismantlement Facility on Shadow Moses Island is taken over by Terrorists lead by Liquid Snake, Solid Snake's "brother", who were both cloned from the legendary warrior Big Boss. Solid Snake must infiltrate the facility, sent in with limited items and no weapons, and stop the Terrorists from launching Metal Gear REX. Like its real-world counterpart, it is snowing and is extremely cold.
